What Would You Change in Microsoft Windows?
Posted on January 29th, 2012 24 commentswww.lockergnome.com In the world of operating systems, simplicity is key. It was this simplicity that brought Microsoft out of the slump it fell into with Windows Vista, arguably the most complex version of Windows to date. The Metro interface is designed with simplicity in mind. The ball is in Microsoft’s court whether or not users will be forced to live predominantly in the more complex Aero world or Metro. We’re anxious to see how this plays out as the Windows 8 grows closer to a release candidate, and suggest these five changes that would make Windows a better operating system. Gnome menus option in Windows, hehe.
OpenOffice built into Windows, I wish. But, Office Starter built into the manufacturer and non-manufacturer Windows would be nice.

More custom options in Linux, which Windows needs to consider.
XP also had a lot of custom options, which 7 does not.
Low resource and process sleep modes, would be nice. Show Desktop icon should be shown by default.

You’re so animated. LOL cool stuff. For us, I agree, all OS’s suck but for most users OSX and Windows are decent. Linux is just too much for most computer users.

I’d make Windows so that it knows what I want to do before I know what I want to do. That’d be fun.

People still use BOS? To be fair, Indexing sucks in Microsoft Windows, particularly on Vista.

MSE is being built into Windows 8, they’re just rebranding it as Windows Defender.

I would like to see Windows Live apps built in Windows, specially Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Mesh.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a Beach Boys song about Windows…

MS Windows needs a version of explorer that works. Even in Windows 7, the browser has an annoying refresh bug.

Chris I do need to say Windows Compatibility for older programs needs to be removed and be able to use them. Why? Our market in Commercial and others are still using XP & we call know there behind. Why are they still using it? Because there programs work on older systems. Microsoft is loosing money because no one is upgrading because of the Compatibility issue. I try’d to upgrade my moms computers at her business to run help dos and it’s needed just plain cut out on the newer systems.

that would be cool if they had a wizard to get rid of processes built into the system
. Windows would have a one up on a lot of operating systems if they did that. -

I would like the Os to allow me to install it on as many computers in my house as I would like. Then for all its worth, I would like windows a lot more.

Customizations for the UI out of the box in Windows would be great however I think I’m tired of seeing the whole concept of Windows overall. To my experience I have not seen an improve user experience since Windows 95.
